Fish Species
When it comes to fishing, Lady Evelyn has it all. Take your pick of walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, whitefish and perch. No matter what your choice, something is always willing to have a pull on your line.
The average walleye size is perfect for the pan, although trophies up to 15-pounds have been taken from the depths below. (Fall is an especially good time to come face to face with a trophy northern or walleye!)
For those looking for further angling opportunities, there are smaller "portage" lakes nearby that are home to brook trout, rainbows and lakers. With this many fishing opportunities, why even look anywhere else?

Lady Evelyn - Smoothwater Wilderness Park
Established in 1983, this Ontario Park is nothing less than spectacular. Making up the centerpiece of the Temagami wilderness area, the Park offers ancient hiking trails and top of the line canoeing routes. The old growth red and white pine forests are world-renowned, and the Ishpatina Ridge lays claim to being the highest point in Ontario.
Be forewarned - the ruggedness of the Park's terrain is not to be taken lightly. Backcountry skills and experience in white-water canoeing are definite requirements.

Obabika Wilderness Park
Created back in 1989, this Park encompasses Lakes Wakimika, Obabika and Diamond. The area itself is rich in native culture, and the wildlife viewing along the Obabika River is second to none. Superb campsites can be found on the north end of Obabika Lake as can impressive stands of old growth forests.
